FAMILY VIDEOGRAPHY - BIRTHDAY PARTIES
One of the most rewarding things about being a family filmmaker is the smiles!
Capturing beaming babies and proud parents, as they interact on camera, is what it’s all about.
And the real beauty is that it’s all natural bonding: no need to tease the emotions, or stage things for young or old.
That was definitely the case as Henri celebrated a fun-packed milestone with First Year Films.
After all, it’s not everyday you turn one - and Henri's Mummy, Rea, and Daddy, James Chester, went all-out to ensure their little one’s first birthday party was one to remember.
Henri adores all things barnyard, so what better than a fun farm-themed event to invite all his little friends to?
You can watch Henri's birthday party video at the bottom of the page but first, let's take a look at some stills from his fabulous party.

Opulent Balloons were the party planners for this incredible birthday celebration and they didn't disappoint, with jaw-dropping designs and gorgeous balloon arches to greet the guests as they arrived at Arley Hall & Gardens in Cheshire.
'Henri's Farm' featured hay bales, farmyard animal displays, enough fresh fruit and vegetables to rival a harvest festival and delectable treats from Hey Little Cupcake!
Filming Henri's video in 4K means I am able to take some fabulous screenshots from his video footage too - and while they're not suitable to be enlarged to canvas-size, the family photos are absolutely ideal for smaller prints, photobooks and tailor made for social media sharing.
The farmyard fun kept everyone entertained and Henri and his friends were excited to be able to get up close and personal with an array of real life farm animals in the courtyard, supplied by Alldays Farms. There were pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, chinchillas, guinea pigs, rabbits and donkeys, but Henri seemed particularly pleased to meet his namesake Henry the Shetland Pony.
Back inside the Olympia Barn, the fun continued with soft play activities from Giddy Kipperz, including a bouncy castle and ball pit; children's entertainer Dozy Dave and face painting, before everyone gathered around the birthday cake to wish the little man a very happy birthday.
After the singing was done, the children sat down to enjoy their farmyard picnic lunch, delivered in plant pots, including special packs of seeds to take away to plant and remember the day.
With full tummies and ready to continue the party, the children went outside to enjoy donkey rides with Alldays Farm.
The fruit and veg from the display even went to good use as Henri and Mummy, Rea, treated the donkeys to some carrots and apples.
Family videography provides lots of variety, but this was my first farmyard-themed party, and was a delight to film.
I was thrilled to be invited to capture all these precious memories for the Chester family to be able to look back on in years to come.
Time passes so fleetingly and I know from my own experience how quickly children grow up, and how important it is to have these golden moments and baby films to look back on. Happy 1st birthday little man!
